Really? How much science is based on primary evidence and how much based on secondary evidence? How many times have scientific "facts" been revised when new evidence is collected? Secondary evidence, in particular, must be interpreted - usually by researchers attempting to prove their own bias. How many mysteries are still incorporated in nature, despite the amount of research devoted to it? For example, do we really fully understand the atom? Every time a more sophisticated research tool is developed we need revise our picture of the atom. Scripture is no different. There are many mysteries contained in scripture. We attempt to determine meanings, but we can never be certain our interpretation is correct. In fact, it seems like every time an answer to a mystery is revealed, we discover that we were on the wrong page. In reality, Scripture and Science are not all that different.
No, scripture and science are NOT complementary! One is primitive superstition and the other is evidence-based.
